Dr Carla Thamm

Dr Carla Thamm is an experienced Cancer Nurse and Senior Research Fellow and Clinical Lead of the Cancer Survivorship Program at the Caring Futures Institute at Flinders University.  Dr Thamm has more than 20 years of clinical experience in oncology, haematology and bone marrow transplant nursing, working in Brisbane, Melbourne and London in various clinical, education and management roles. Her research program focuses on optimising models of care and health service provision to improve the lives of people affected by cancer, with a particular interest in nurse-led or enabled survivorship models of care, patient navigation and financial toxicity.  Dr Thamm currently serves as an Early Career editorial board member of the Journal of Advanced Nursing. She is the outgoing chair of the CNSA Education Standing Committee and a project lead for the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA) Financial Toxicity Working Group. She is also a member of the ISNCC Knowledge Development and Dissemination Committee and both the COSA and Multinational Association for Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) Survivorship Groups.
