

Professor Darryl Somayaji
Darryl Somayaji, PhD, CNS, RN, Clinical Professor; Unit Diversity Officer; Adjunct Assistant Professor of Oncology, Cancer Screening & Survivorship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and is a nursing scholar focused on cancer care equity. She earned her BSN from Niagara University, MSN and CNS in community health and teaching from D'Youville University, and PhD in Nursing from the University of Utah. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cancer and health disparities at the Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center and UMass Boston.
Her research aims to address inequities in access to cancer prevention, screening, treatment, and support—particularly in underserved communities. She advocates for innovative strategies and programs to advance health equity in a complex care system.
She is an active member in the New York State Cancer Consortium and has served on the steering committee and as a contributor to past New York State Cancer Consortium’s Comprehensive Cancer Control Plans, with a focus on promoting cancer-related health equity.
